Bugzilla Developer

JDITC is a small company primarily providing IT support services to small businesses with enough IT to need an IT person, but not enough to need someone full time on staff for it. We also provide web development services for hire, which includes commissioned additions to the Bugzilla Open Source Project (https://bugzilla.org/), since the owner is also the lead developer of Bugzilla.

A client has commissioned JDITC to complete the release of Bugzilla 6.0 and we are in need of an additional developer to assist with this project to ensure it can be completed on time.

What you will bring to the table:

  • Proficiency in Perl, HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
  • Proficiency with one or more of the following databases: MySQL, MariaDB, Postgres, Oracle, and/or Sqlite (Bugzilla supports all of them through a database abstraction layer)
  • Good time management skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Willingness to write code which will be licensed as open source software and viewable and modifiable by the general public.
  • Familiarity with Bugzilla is a plus, but not a requirement.

This will be a contract position at $40/hr. The initial scope of the project is a specific piece of the Bugzilla 6.0 project with 20 hours allocated, but I would like to leave the option open to give you additional projects (including but not limited to additional portions of the completion of Bugzilla 6.0) on an ongoing basis if your performance and coding are good.

You can work remotely, but must be US-based.
